Tour Wrap up: The HHSA tour in 2025 saw total of 163 foal and horse registrations and 61 mare classifications. The quality of the foals has been very good, which is reflected with 33 Gold foals and 44 Silver foals. Both of the international classifiers, Meg Williams (USA) and Dr. Ludwig Christmann (GER) said that the overall quality was very high and absolutely comparable to other countries, with Ludwig saying that some of the foals could easily be sold at the Hannoveraner Auction in Verden.
The registrations were nicely spread across the states, with 65 in Victoria, 46 in QLD, 29 in NSW, 16 in Western Australia and 7 in South Australia.
It was also great to see several high-quality jumping foals presented. Both judges also suggested that we could open an eventing category, so watch this space for next year!
23 Mares were awarded with a total score of 7.5 in their mare classification, qualifying them to become premium mares once they have completed the mare performance test and have had a foal.
All classifiers were very grateful for the welcoming hospitality provided by our breeders and were happy to answer their questions and engage in discussions about the Hanoverian brand and warmblood breeding in general.
The HHSA also wants to thank all our helpers and volunteers for their support, especially Gayle Maule, Rachel Whiting, Kaitlin Colless, Erin Fitzgerald and Heidi Emery for looking after our judges. Without you this would not have been possible!
Whilst the tour is over, it is not too late to register foals and horses with us. We also encourage our breeders to register their foals remotely. Once the online forms have been completed, we send a DNA kit to take a hair sample and record the markings. For more information, contact Lisa via registrar@hanoverian.org.au
